Environmentally safe waste processing

Indaver has landfill units at its sites in Antwerp and Doel. Indaver is also involved in energy recovery using landfill gas at this landfill site through its participation in the Hooge Maey Intermunicipal body.

• There is a category 1 landfill in Antwerp. Dangerous waste and residual waste from incineration and/or processing of waste is dumped at this category of landfill.
• In Doel there is a category 1 landfill and a category 2 landfill. The category 2 landfill in Doel is for exclusively inorganic non-hazardous waste with a low level of organic-biodegradable matter.
• Waste with a high level of organic-biodegradable components is dumped at the category 2 landfill of the Intermunicipal Association Hooge Maey.
